Sociological associations address the needs and problems of society, supporting specialists with information, resources, funding, and networking opportunities. In particular, the American Sociological Association (ASA) aims to help sociologists worldwide, providing its members with professional development opportunities. This organization makes publications, hosts meetings, offers resources, scholarships, programs, networking opportunities, and advocates for public policies (American Sociological Association, n.d.). The Council on Contemporary Families (CCF) is another association for sociologists, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals involved in the field. This organization provides the public with research findings and data regarding families in the United States (“About CCF,” n.d.). It is essential to make effective decisions regarding public policy and societal issues (Ross, 2011; Tsai et al., 2014). Both professional sociological associations significantly contribute to the development of sociology.
